BIDDING

You need a number to bid and you must present proof of identity in order to receive a bidding number. The personal information you give us will be for internal use only and not be shared with persons outside the business functions of the auction.  The auctioneer’s statements during the auction take precedence over all written and verbal information given.  The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for cause.  If there is a bid dispute over a lot. the auctioneer may offer the clock again. All antique clocks are to be sold and must be paid for immediately after the sale.

CATALOG INFORMATION

Catalog descriptions and estimates are to be used as only as guides.  The catalog descriptions are as thorough as space allows.  It is impossible to describe every detail of the clocks condition to everyone’s satisfaction.  We have included high photographs of the antique clocks offered to help describe the clocks.  We strongly recommend personal inspections due to differing opinions especially when there are questions regarding condition, repairs, and originality.  Unless otherwise stated each clock has its original movement and is basically complete but may lack pendulum, key or other small part. If the description lists an associated movement, the clocks has a movement, yet not the original clock mechanism supplied from the maker when new.  We do our best to point out major defects but are not liable for hidden damages or overlooked defects.  Dimensions are approximate. Antiques inherently have minor flaws and patina from years of use, so unless we describe the clock in mint, prefect or pristine condition, expect an antique with some degree of patina and or dust.  The final decision to bid, and the amount to bid is at your own discretion and liability. All lots are as-is-where-is and your bid on the clock constitutes acceptance of the item in it's present condition ...and we will receive payment immediately after the sale.

ABSENTEE BIDS

Our clerk will execute absentee bids on your behalf by proxy. If there is only one absentee bid on an item, bidding will open on the floor and rise in normal increments. Our clerk will bid as low as possible on the absentee’s behalf. If there is more than one absentee bid on a lot, bidding will open between the top two, one increment above the lower bid. If a duplication in bids occur, the first bid received will take precedence.  If the audience matches your bid, the audience bid shall win. The clerk will place all absentee bids as accurately as possible.  No system is perfect and Mark of Time will not be held liable for any errors or omissions.  Absentee bids should be phoned in, mailed to our address, or emailed to auction@markoftime.com

If you phone in your absentee bid and do not reach a live person, please feel confident to leave a detailed message with all your bidding info, including name, address, phone #, Lot # with your bid, and your credit card number. Mark of Time will confirm all absentee bids received either by phone or e-mail.  For your convenience an absentee form is included in the catalog, which may be copied.  Please bid in whole dollars only. The auctioneer has sole discretion and may not accept bids deemed to be less than a competitive increment rise in bidding.

Winning absentee bidders will be notified within 48 hour of the close of the auction.  Payment is due immediately and should received and no later than 3 days from the date of the auction’s close.

PHONE BIDDING

Phone bidding is available on items over $500. Due to limited phone lines please arrange phone bids as soon as possible.

Taxes

All clock sales subject to State of Florida sales tax, unless buyer has a current resale certificate for sales tax from the State of Florida. Out of state tax resale numbers will be accepted according to Florida laws. (Signature required on affidavit of resale or export.)

Antique Clocks shipped for consumption outside the State of Florida are not subject to state sales tax according to Fla. laws.

Sorry no exceptions. We collect sales tax for the State of Florida.

SHIPPING

Packing and shipping costs vary. Minimum cost for packing and shipping a clock from the sale is $35. Medium sized lightweight mantle clock would be $45-65. Average size wall clocks range $50-90. The larger clocks are priced on a case by case basis and could be quite expensive to ship. We charge a bit less than the retail carriers but more than the regular Ebay seller who works from home. We hired trained packers and pay them well for their help and therefore must pass the costs on to our customers. We are not in the business of making money on shipping services but strive to make sure your item comes to you in the same condition it leaves here. With so many clocks to send out after the auction, some clocks may take 4-6 weeks after the sale to be delivered.
